  • Zone: 5b or 6a - 8a
  • Native range: Eastern China
  • pH: 5.0 – 7.0
  • Other: Adapted to urban conditions; moderate salt and drought tolerance
  • Ornamental characteristics: Mottled bark, shedding with age; dense, dark green leaves turning orange to red in the fall. Introduced from China.
  • Pests: Some ice damage
