At the start of 2013, significant new restrictions were placed on local governmental authority to regulate the expansion and location of wireless service facilities, in addition the restrictions on local regulations already in place.  This publication reviews and explains the limits on local authority from (1) the Federal Telecommunication Act, (2) the Spectrum Act (a.k.a. Sequestration Act), (3) the 2014 FCC ruling, and (4) the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act.
