4-H Dog Junior Showmanship Manual (4H1523)

April 16, 2015

This guide is designed to provide you with the basic information you need to know for beginning dog junior showmanship.  (The term "junior showmanship" is a nationally recognized general class name for dog showmanship and does not reflect an age category for handlers.) The manual includes sections for volunteers on helping 4-H’ers develop life skills, the roles volunteers play, what volunteers need to know to lead a 4-H dog project and possible topics for group meetings. It also features information on the junior handler, the dog and the junior showmanship team. Diagrams of the various gaiting patterns and the 4-H Dog Junior Showmanship Scoresheet are also included.
