Many community agencies are supporting Flint residents in managing these difficult emotions. On this page, you can find information on MSU Extension mindfulness programs offered in the Flint area, links to existing resources and opportunities for further learning.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness can be described as “exercise for your brain,” where you strengthen the ability to focus your attention on the present moment. This skill helps to quiet the worries of the future and repetitive thoughts about the past allowing one to relax into the present moment.

Thank you to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint for your financial support in making this campaign possible.

Why Mindfulness?

By practicing mindfulness we change our brain, allowing us to manage our emotions easier, think clearer, improve self-awareness and improve memory. Read this article to find out why the Crim Foundation has chosen mindfulness as a tool for building resilience in Flint residents.
