Video-based resources to help parents

MSU Extension offers video-based parenting resources to help parents learn more about how to support their child’s development.

Michigan State University Extension is now offering video-based parenting resources on the MSU Extension YouTube Channel to help parents support their child’s development. The videos are based on articles written by MSU Extension educators and address some common parenting questions such as how to help a child develop independence, what to do when siblings fight, why children misbehave, how to help children learn friendship skills and many other topics.

The videos are about 10 minutes long and include information about why that topic is important to a child’s development, how parents can support a child’s development around that specific topic and include tips and ideas for parents to try with their children. There are currently 14 videos available from the MSU Extension YouTube Channel from the Early Childhood Team video playlist. The videos can be accessed any time, day or night and from mobile devices, making it easier for parents to find research-based information to help support their child’s development.

Parents and caregivers can subscribe to the playlist so they are notified when more videos are added. MSU Extension will be adding more videos throughout the year, so be sure to check back often.
