StrengthsFinder might be helpful to your organization
Helping to understand your own strengths can lead to success.
On January 27, 2017 Michigan State University Extension’s Epsilon Sigma Phi Michigan Alpha Psi Chapter will host “Maximize your Strengths and Increase your Effectiveness as a Leader”. This professional development opportunity, called StrengthsFinder, might also be the right for your organization.
What is the Clifton StrengthsFinder inventory?
“Marcus Buckingham, coauthor of the national bestseller ‘First, Break All the Rules’, and Donald O. Clifton, chair of the Gallup International Research & Education Center, have created a revolutionary program to help readers identify their talents, build them into strengths, and enjoy consistent, near-perfect performance. At the heart of the book is the Internet-based StrengthsFinder Profile, the product of a 25-year, multimillion-dollar effort to identify the most prevalent human strengths. The program introduces 34 dominant ‘themes’ with thousands of possible combinations, and reveals how they can best be translated into personal and career success.”
Once the online assessment is completed, participants will receive a comprehensive report and learn how their dominant top five talents can help them excel and begin a path to better performance and higher engagement. The report also includes a copy of the digital “StrengthsFinder 2.0 e-book”.
The program facilitator is a member of the Ohio State University Leadership Center team. Beth Flynn draws upon her knowledge and experience to help organizations improve employees’ performance. Beth holds a master’s degree in community and human resource development from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Beth Flynn is an enthusiastic educator, facilitator and trainer. With an emphasis on interactive learning, her strengths-based workshops focus on attitude, creativity, motivation and leadership styles. Beth’s programs receive rave reviews, but the best compliment she receives is that organizations invite her back to conduct additional trainings.
To date, Beth has facilitated StrengthsFinder to over 1800 participants. Some of her clients have included Univision, OSU Medical Center physicians, Fisher College of Business, OSU Extension, Ohio Attorney General’s office, Office of the First Lady of the State of Ohio, Ohio Democratic, Party, Ohio Department of Transportation, Otis Elevators, Buckeye Electric, OSUMC Cardiology Fellows, OSUMC Communications Department, OSU Office of Communications, Elmer’s Glue and many others.
