Smart Vegetable Gardening Series focuses on urban gardening for homes, health and communities
Register by Feb. 16, 2017, for the Smart Gardening Vegetable Series at the West Michigan Home and Garden Show and get a 20 percent discount. All registrants receive a free pass.
Anyone interested in learning more about growing their own vegetables or improving current gardening methods is invited to attend the Smart Vegetable Gardening Series at the 2017 West Michigan Home and Garden Show in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Register for one or all of these sessions being held throughout Thursday and Friday, March 2-3, 2017. Topics include:
- Gardening for Your Health: Growing plants to make us stronger from the inside out!
- Is Your Soil Healthy? – Steps you can take to a Smart Soil
- Sprouting Community Gardens
- Vegetable Gardening in Small Spaces
- Backyard Beekeeping and Beneficials for Vegetable Gardens
Some sessions will include demonstrations showing what supplies, steps and care are needed to be successful vegetable gardeners. Attendees in each session will have the opportunity to win garden-themed door prizes related to the session topic.
Register early! If you register by Feb. 16, you will receive a 20 percent discount. If you register for all five sessions, one of the sessions is free. All registrations receive a free pass to the West Michigan Home and Garden Show, which features other free gardening educational sessions, 12 feature gardens and 350 different exhibitors.
Michigan State University Extension’s Smart Gardening booth is one of the exhibitors. MSU Extension consumer horticulture staff and Extension Master Gardeners trained in Smart Gardening outreach are on-hand to provide free, educational resources and information on sustainable garden practices.
