2024 Michigan soybean on-farm research updates open for registration

Results from 52 on-farm research trials and practical information for managing deer damage will be presented at six educational programs conducted around the state.

The results of the 2023 soybean on-farm research projects and practical information for managing deer damage in 2024 will be presented at six educational programs. The programs will be held around the state at the dates and locations listed below:

  • January 5, Lenawee Christian Center Auditorium, 111 Wolf Creek Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221 (The soybean on-farm research update is part of the Center For Excellence Crop Day.)
  • January 11, AgroLiquid, 3055 M-21, St. Johns, MI 48879
  • January 16, GreenMark Equipment, 16700 Heimbach Rd., Three Rivers, MI 49093
  • January 17, The Trestle Stop Restaurant, 3366 M-40, Hamilton, MI 49419
  • January 30, Williams Township Hall, 1080 W. Midland Rd., Auburn, MI 48611
  • January 31, Beagio's Pizza, 5795 Sanilac Rd, Kingston, MI 48741

All programs begin with registration at 9 a.m. except Adrian, which begins at 8:30 a.m. The results from 52 on-farm research trials will be presented. Participants will learn how various management practices, products and equipment affected soybean yield and income in 2023. James DeDecker from Michigan State University Extension and Tim Duckert from AgroLiquid will also present practical information for managing deer damage in soybeans. Participants will have ample time to ask questions and provide input into the 2024 on-farm research topics.

This program has been approved for one pesticide applicator recertification credit.

The Michigan Soybean Checkoff program will cover all costs. However, pre-registration is requested to ensure an accurate count for lunch and materials. To register online, go to the 2024 On-Farm Research Winter Meetings registration page. To register by phone, call the Michigan Soybean Checkoff office in St. Johns at 989-652-3294 and provide the location of the program, your name, phone number and the number of people attending. Please pre-register by Friday, Dec. 29, for the Adrian location and by Friday, Jan. 5, for all other locations.
