Register now for the 2016 Smart Vegetable Gardening Conference
Smart soils, season extenders, nutrients and gardening for pollinators are the focus of the Smart Vegetable Gardening Conference in Tustin on May 21, 2016.
Whether a seasoned vegetable gardener or just a beginner, it’s not too late to register for the upcoming Smart Vegetable Gardening Conference at the Kettunen Center in Tustin, Michigan, on Saturday, May 21, 2016, from 8-4 p.m. Smart Gardening is focused on providing home gardeners with earth-friendly techniques that help reduce pesticide use, build healthy soils and make use of organic fertilizer sources. Key messages focus around smart soils, smart plants, smart lawns, smart vegetables and smart gardening for pollinators.
Four different Michigan State University Extension educators will provide presentations on smart gardening for healthy soils, season extenders for smart gardening, smart vegetable gardening for pollinators and beneficials, and smart nutrient management for vegetables. Along with learning smart practices, attendees can win garden-themed door prizes and enjoy a Kettunen Center lunch. Vendors will also be present. Only online registrations will be accepted before the day of the conference. Early bird registration of $50 is due by May 1. Normal registration of $60 is from May 2-20. Registration includes snacks, lunch, handouts, access to MSU Extension’s Smart Gardening tip sheets and door prizes. You must allow 10 days for processing if paying by check, so checks are due to MSU ANR Events Services by May 10. You can also register at the door for $70.
