Valent U.S.A. Corporation announced that Presidio fungicide has been registered by the Environmental Protection Agency for use on potatoes for pink rot and late blight control. Presidio can be applied in the following methods: in-furrow at planting, ground, aerial and chemigation application.
For pink rot, Valent recommends that Presidio be applied in furrow at planting for greatest efficacy. A second banded application can be made at tuber initiation.
Presidio should be applied preventively prior to infection or appearance of late blight. For product stewardship, all foliar applications of Presidio against pink rot and late blight must be tank mixed with a product proven to have residual contact activity such as Ridomil for pink rot and chlorothalonil or mancozeb for late blight. Presidio contains acylpicolide and is the sole fungicide in FRAC Group 43. See the full label for rates of application.
