Organic intensive educational sessions offered for farmers and gardeners

U.S. organic industry continues to grow.

The Michigan Organic Food and Farming Alliance (MOFFA) is offering three in-depth educational sessions on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Michigan State University. The three sessions are: 1) Diverse Grain Options for Farms and Homesteads, 2) Organic Transplant Production: Secure a Stellar Season with Successful Starts and 3) Small to Medium Scale Livestock for the Integrated Farm.  Experts in their respective fields will lead each of the three sessions. The concurrent sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and include lunch. For an overview of all sessions, please download the brochure here.

Registration for MOFFA members is $90 and $105 for non-MOFFA members. Please click this link to register.

You might consider becoming a MOFFA member. It is only $40 each year for an individual or family and will save you $15 on the organic intensive registration.

MOFFA is a 501(c)(3) that was established in 1992 with a mission to promote environmentally sound and socially just organic food and farming systems that revitalize and sustain communities. MOFFA offers dozens of organic resources, keeps members up to date on pertinent policy issues and compiles a list of “organic and ecologically sustainable” growers and farms across the state. There are a number of scholarships available for this event, thanks to George and Ann Bird, which will cover all but $25 for those needing financial assistance.
