The Michigan State University Turfgrass Field Day is set to take place Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the MSU Hancock Turfgrass Research Center, 4444 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824. We’re mixing up the field day this year from its traditional morning tour format. Instead of rotating through stops, we will have dedicated times for our researchers to highlight several of their research projects. There will be 12 different presentations covering golf, lawn and athletic field research of 25 minutes in length each. Presentations will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon. Attendees will be free to choose which presentations they want to hear and can create their own schedule. Lunch is included in the registration fee.

The morning research presentations have been awarded three MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, Private Core, 3A and 3B.

There are three in-depth, hands-on workshops in the afternoon: weed walk, disease identification and a tour of the MSU athletic fields. All afternoon tours were awarded two MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, Private Core, 3A and 3B.

For golf course superintendents 0.30 education points have been awarded for the morning research tour and 0.20 education points for the afternoon workshops.

Visit the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation for information on registration and tour descriptions.
