MSU Turfgrass Field Day takes place August 10
The MSU Turfgrass Field Day includes presentations and workshops covering golf, lawn and athletic field research.
The Michigan State University Turfgrass Field Day will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Hancock Turfgrass Research Center, 4444 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824. Morning research tours will include 12 different presentations covering turf research for golf, lawn and athletic fields of approximately 30 minutes in length each. Presentations will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon. Attendees will be free to choose which presentations they want to hear and can create their own schedule. Lunch is included in the registration fee. There are three in-depth, hands-on workshops in the afternoon. Weed walk, Disease ID and insect diagnostics tour.
Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) pesticide recertification credits have been applied for. In the past, morning research presentations have been awarded 3 MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, Private Core, 3A and 3B while afternoon tours were awarded 2 MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, Private Core, 3A and 3B. Official approval of credits can be found at the MDARD website.
For golf course superintendents, .30 education points have been awarded for the morning research tour and .20 education points for the afternoon workshops.
