MSU Turfgrass Field Day to take place Aug. 16, 2017

The MSU Turfgrass Field Day includes presentations and workshops covering golf, lawn and athletic field research.

The Michigan State University Turfgrass Field Day will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at the Hancock Turfgrass Research Center4444 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824. Morning research tours will include 12 different, 30-minute presentations covering turf research for golf, lawn and athletic fields. Presentations will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon.

Attendees can choose which presentations they want to hear and can create their own schedule. Lunch is included in the registration fee. There are four in-depth, hands-on workshops in the afternoon: weed walk, disease identification, insect diagnostics and MSU athletic fields.

Five Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) pesticide recertification credits have been approved. The morning tour was approved for three MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, 3A and 6, and the afternoon tours were awarded two MDARD pesticide recertification credits in categories Commercial Core, 3A and 6.
