Michigan Spring Peach Update March 8

A full-day meeting with educational sessions and discussions on growing, packing and marketing high quality peaches.

Peach growers are always looking for ways to improve their profitability. The 2011 Spring Peach Update will feature educational sessions and discussions on:

  • Insect management strategies,
  • Disease control
  • Marketing strategies for peaches
  • Ground cover management
  • Farm marketing of peaches
  • Mechanical peach thinning
  • New peach varieties

Special out-of-state speakers include Dr. Norm Lalancette, Plant Pathologist, Rutgers University and Bruce Hollabaugh, co-owner Hollabaugh Orchards, Biglerville, Pennsylvania.

This March 8 meeting will be held at the Jordon B. Tatter Conference Center at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center near Benton Harbor, Michigan. Attendees will be eligible for credits toward recertification of their Michigan pesticide applicators license.
