Many Enviro-weather tools have new features

The new Enviro-weather website (launched in mid-January) provides a new look and additional features for already-existing tools.
Enviro-weather is easier to navigate. Instead of having to return to the main menu, users can quickly and easily change stations, weather summary or tool, and date range by using pull-down menus at the top of the table (Figure 1.)

Several tools have new features. For example, the temperature and rainfall summary (available on the station page and on all the commodity pages under the “weather observations and summaries” heading) now allows you to add and delete columns. To delete a column, click on the “X” in the upper right corner of the column. It disappears from view, but don’t worry, it’s not permanently gone. When you reload the temperature and rainfall summary again the display will be back to normal and the column will be visible.
You can also add a customized column of degree-day totals. Choose your base temperature and the date to start accumulations in the upper left above the table (see Figure 2.), then click on “Add GDD Column.” The custom column will be displayed. They are not saved when you exit Enviro-weather, but they are easy to add when needed.

We’ve added a commodity page for “Landscape and Nursery.” Right now you can find several resources, such as links to IPM information, the Christmas Tree Pest Manual, and lists of degree-day triggers for insect pests. We will also be adding several insect pest predictive models over the growing season.
Although we’ve worked hard to catch and fix any problems, like any new website, there may be glitches. Please let us know if you find any. Enviro-weather exists to serve its users.
