Learn how to evaluate wine from master sommeliers on February 7

Wine professionals and aficionados are invited to the Wine Evaluation Workshop and tasting of Lake Michigan Shore Appellation wines sponsored by the Michigan Grape Society.

Michigan wines are receiving increased national attention due to recognition of their quality, and wines from southwest Michigan are among the best the state has to offer. Whether you are a professional in the wine industry or a wine aficionado, don’t miss this opportunity to taste southwest Michigan wines.

A panel of knowledgeable experts will guide you through tastings of wines from the Lake Michigan Shore Appellation, along with world class examples of wine styles from other wine regions similar to southwest Michigan wines. Participants will taste the wines at the same time as the experts to get a first-hand appreciation of the subtleties of the wines. At the end of the session, the panel will choose the best southwest Michigan wine in each category. The event will end with a hospitality session of southwest Michigan wines.

Representatives of the wineries will be present to answer any questions you may have about their wines. This event, sponsored by The Michigan Grape Society, will be held on February 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Lake Michigan College Mendel Center, 2755 East Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor, Mich. (view map and directions). Registration is $75 per person by February 3 and $90 per person for registrations paid after that date. Registration includes a catered lunch.
