International conference on feed efficiency in swine
The International Conference on Feed Efficiency in Swine is set to take place on November 8 -9, 2011 in Omaha, Nebraska.
In times when high feed ingredient prices are affecting pork producers, it is imperative to maximize feed resources efficiently. The intent of the International Conference on Feed Efficiency in Swine is to do just that: To discuss the many aspects of feed efficiency in growing and finishing swine. This conference is being organized by Iowa State University and Kansas State University and designed to appeal to pork producers, industry suppliers, industry consultants, researchers and pork industry organizations that have an interest in the technical aspect of pork production.
A few of the many topics to be covered in this two-day conference include the economic importance of feed efficiency in commercial pork production, environmental influence of feed efficiency, feeding and barn management practices that maximize feed efficiency, effect of health on feed efficiency, feed processing to maximize feed efficiency and emerging technologies with potential to influence feed efficiency.
