Four ways your smartphone can help you while house hunting

According to the joint study, “The Digital House Hunt: Consumer and Market Trends in Real Estate”, from the National Association of Realtors and Google 90 percent of home buyers searched online during their home buying process. 31 percent of home shoppers who take action on a real estate site are between the ages of 25 – 34. Shoppers will perform an average of 11 searches prior to taking action on a real estate site. What does this tell us? Technology is moving forward in the home buying market. How can your smartphone help with house hunting? Below are four suggestions.

  1. Search Listings: Not only can you search local real estate websites for their listings but you can also read general information, read reviews, and watch virtual tours of the home’s you may be interested in.
  2. Open House: Using searches will allow you to find homes available for tour in your neighborhood of choice. In addition, you can use your smartphone for directions to the homes you want to visit.
  3. Contacts: Your smartphone will assist you in finding contact information for a Real Estate agent that can assist you in your search for a new home. 88 percent of the buyers surveyed used an agent in addition to searching online.
  4. Camera: Your smartphone’s camera will come in handy while taking home tours. Be sure to take pictures of each home you tour. After your tours you will be able to compare features of each home to determine what’s right for you.

With technology on the rise individuals are utilizing their smartphones more often; why not join the 47 percent of first-time homebuyers who also searched the internet for a new home.
