Entrepreneur programming and resources help your community

State-wide Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities Conference expands to two locations.

This is an exciting year for the Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Program! In an effort to expand this outstanding program the Michigan State University Extension CEC Planning Team has decided to double the effort and have two conference locations! And to make it even more interesting they’ve chosen two great communities that are located at opposite ends of our great state.

The first conference will be held in the Houghton/Hancock Communities on Oct. 7 and 8, 2015 and offers two keynote speakers and 25 educational sessions to choose from. The 2nd conference, to be held in downtown Sturgis on Oct. 21 and 22, 2015, has a similar format with two keynote speakers and 27 educational sessions. Both events have outstanding and unique networking opportunities to share best practices and connect with other communities doing outstanding entrepreneurship programming.

Join other like-minded community leaders as we learn new programs and resources, share best practices and ideas, empower ourselves and others to assist entrepreneurs grow our local communities at the annual Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Conference.

From the birthplace of professional hockey, to a speakeasy frequented in the 20’s and 30’s, each location’s break-out sessions are embedded in shops and venues throughout each downtown. The conference offers the unique opportunity to not only learn about, but experience an entrepreneurial community.

We encourage you to invite your colleagues, coworkers, community leaders and stakeholders. Whether you work in economic development, arts and culture, government, philanthropy, nonprofit or education, we all have a part to play in supporting local businesses and entrepreneur development in our communities.
