Emergency Meeting Concerning Corn & Soybean Planting Decisions

June 2 meetings will help corn and soybean farmers explore all options.

With each passing rain storm in Michigan, planting dates have been pushed later into the season for most crops. Because there are deadlines for crop insurance approaching, important decisions need to be made by producers. MSU Extension has scheduled two meetings for Thursday, June 2.

Tentative topics are:

  • USDA – Farm Service Agency: reporting requirements, deadlines and considerations
  • Crop insurance
  • Market options for commodities
  • Agronomy considerations for late planted crops
  • Economic modeling using a budget template
  • Options for wheat

Please pass the word on to other farmers and ag professionals who might be interested in this meeting.

Thursday, June 2, 9 a.m – 11 a.m.
