Clean Sweep in Benton Harbor is cancelled for 2013

Funding shortfalls result in cancellation of the Clean Sweep Pesticide Collection event for September 25 in Benton Harbor, Mich.

The Clean Sweep Pesticide Collection event for Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties originally scheduled for Sept.25, 2013 in Benton Harbor, Mich., has been cancelled. The 2013 Clean Sweep grant was terminated early due to a funding shortfall in the Groundwater/Freshwater Protection Fund that in part, funds the Clean Sweep Program.

For additional information, contact Jill Adams at 269-983-7111 ext. 8234. Jill will provide updates for any developments about the FY 2014 Clean Sweep Program. Michigan State University Extension is cautiously optimistic about the future of the Clean Sweep Program for 2014, but will verify it before planning any future collection events.
