Enhancing Quality of Life

Building communities that work is key to Michigan’s future prosperity. Moving toward a sustainable future for our state requires leveraging existing networks of community and economic development leaders, entrepreneurs and visionaries. Collectively we can create new partnerships that focus on initiatives that responsibly manage Michigan’s rich human and natural resources.

Michigan State University (MSU) Extension helps state and local government leaders get the information and training that they need to effectively manage and lead their communities.  Land-use educators assist decision makers in setting policies that protect communities’ natural assets and develop them in the best interests of current residents and generations to come. Whether it’s creating community gardens, planning sustainable systems to feed the hungry or protecting Michigan’s precious natural resources, MSU Extension programs invest time and talent in enhancing the quality of life for residents so that Michigan remains a great place to live, work and play.
