Diane works to develop, coordinate, implement and monitor economic development strategies and community engagement activities that support the statewide strategy for cultural and economic development interests of Michigan State University. Her work takes her to Michigan communities where she engages with community leaders to promote educational and economic development activities for artists and musicians while engaging on a grass-roots level to implement programming that supports local engagement and statewide connection.

Diane Wilson joined MSU in 1990 at Wharton Center for Performing Arts and began working in the Office of the Vice President for Governmental Affairs in 2001. With the development and growth of Michigan ArtShare, Diane’s position now resides in MSU Extension within the Community, Food & Environment Institute. Prior to coming to MSU, Diane promoted local concerts and performances and engaged in arts engagement activities. Diane earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Women’s Studies and English and a Master of Arts degree in American Studies, all from MSU.
