Senior Extension Educator Brenda Long served as the Family and Consumer Sciences Educator in Ionia County from 2002 until the MSU Extension restructuring in 2010, when Long’s responsibilities expanded to six mid-Michigan counties, including Montcalm, Gratiot, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham. Long has been responsible for planning, promoting, conducting and evaluating education programs focused on financial capacity, home buyer, foreclosure prevention and health insurance education. As current co-chair of the Financial and Homeownership workteam, Long has been instrumental in developing and/or training for regional and statewide programs that enhance county programs. She has also been the Principal Investigator for several federal grants and supervises one Program Instructor.
