While this training is not restricted to Clare County, market Swine Project members MUST have current Youth PQA Plus certification in order to exhibit at the Clare County Fair. Members can attend this training or complete online training at https://www.pork.org/youth-pqa-plus/ if certification is needed or needs to be made current. The training is geared to youth age 8 to 19 years old participating in the swine project. Youth will learn about the 10 good production practices. Youth 12 to 19 will be able to take a test after the presentation and be certified for more than one year. If you have questions about whether you need to attend, please contact Michelle Neff, MSU Extension Educator, at email@example.com. Materials and training will be provided for youth involved in pork production and to promote good production practices for exhibition swine. PQA class will be approximately one hour of training with testing immediately following. See the attached flier for complete testing guidelines. Check with your County MSU Extension office for a list of 4-H members who need to take Youth PQA Plus training!
