Using Consequences with Teens

Learn guidelines for using appropriate consequences as a means to help teens correct typical behavior problems.

During this workshop participants will:

  • Explore the relationship between teen development and their need to learn their actions have consequences.
  • Understand why consequences are more effective than punishment.
  • Distinguish between use of rewards, natural consequences and logical consequences.
  • Identify guidelines for following through with consequences.

Class meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 29. Cost of this workshop is $5 payable at the door. Pre-registration is required by calling Holly Tiret at 616-336-8998, or email tiret@anr.msu.edu.
