Overview and Cost - The workshop will provide a forum to:
1. Acquire knowledge and skills needed to build an ROV with students in the classroom or as an after school activity.
2. Develop an understanding of what ROV technicians do and career pathways.
3. Learn about the Annual Great Lakes Regional MATE ROV Competition for students held in Alpena.
Best for educators or mentors working with students grades 5th - 12th
Cost: $20 fee to attend. Attendees commit to supporting a student team to enter the 2018 or 2019 Great Lakes Regional MATE ROV Competition in Alpena, MI. Attendees will leave with a robot to use with their teams. The 2018 competition will be held May 12. Payment may be made at the workshop via check or credit card, invoices or purchase orders are available upon request. Schools and groups are encouraged to send teams of two to work on a build together!

Overnight Stay: If you are coming from outside Alpena, you are invited to stay overnight for free in the sanctuary’s Visiting Researcher Quarters located above the Visitor Center on both Friday and Saturday night please RSVP to secure a bunk.
