Understanding Community Food Systems & Food Hubs

Michigan State University Extension is offering a free workshop where you can learn how a regional Community Food System can:

  • Improve your local economy
  • Create new jobs
  • Increase the health of your residents
  • Lower health care costs
  • Create new businesses Interested groups may include: local planning boards, economic development organizations, food service directors, health care providers, food policy organizations, garden clubs, and service clubs

MSU Extension Educator Mark Hitchcock will be the presenter. Mark Hitchcock is a member of the Community Food Systems Workgroup and is based in Iosco county, with responsibilities throughout Northeastern Lower Michigan.
