This year’s program will include hands-on sprayer and spreader calibration workshop - participants are invited to bring their equipment. A mock roadside inspection of a spray vehicle for MDARD compliance. A diagnostic walking tour of turf grass and landscape of Northern Michigan University’s campus. Deb McCullough, MSU Forest Entomology will have a hands-on session on key U.P. invasive pests and quarantines. Bring any samples you need help identifying or diagnosing. MDOT is joining us with one of their roadside application trucks - lots of new technologies. Program instructors are John Stone, coordinator of the MSU Pesticide Safety Education Program and an instructor with the Ag Tech Lawn and Landscape program. Dr. Deb McCullough, MSU Forest Entomologist, Dave White from MDARD will lead the roadside inspection. Steve Stilson from MDOT will talk about rate controllers and mapping. Registration and check-in is 7:30 to 8 a.m. Eight MDARD recertification credits in Commercial or Private Core, or Categories 2, 3A, 3B, 5 or 6 are available. Lunch will be provided. Bring samples for diagnosis. The program will be mostly outside, rain or shine.
