Taking the lead: Farmer-led watershed group workshop

Date: April 8, 2016
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Crowne Plaza Lansing West, 925 S. Creyts Road, Lansing.
Contact: Shayna Petit, petitsha@msu.edu

This multi-state collaborative workshop will be focused on strengthening farmer-led watershed groups in the Midwest and Michigan. We will have guest speakers from Iowa State University Extension and University of Wisconsin Extension. Amy Gilhouse, a MAEAP Technician from Lenawee Conservation District, will also be presenting on the Farmers Advisory Committee in the River Raisin watershed.

The goal of this workshop is to discuss together how to build upon and enhance current watershed groups in Michigan, while learning from groups in other states that have been successful. In addition, we will use this workshop as a stepping stone to plan collaborative efforts in the future, with a focus on engaging more watersheds in water conservation initiatives.

There is no charge for registration, but it is required as space is limited.

Please register by Monday, April 4, 2016. See the agenda.
