Southwest Horticulture Days is a trade show, an opportunity to continue education, and a social event for horticultural crop producers in Southwest Michigan. We will have material on wine grapes, juice grapes, tree fruit, blueberries, vegetables and small direct-market farmers.
This event is hosted every year through a team effort with the Michigan Grape Society and Michigan State University. The trade show will have representatives from crop consultants, equipment vendors, agriculture-focused nonprofits and government agencies.
Southwest Hort Days 2018 will feature educational sessions taken to the next level with experts from around the state and around the nation including a few of your fellow fruit and vegetable growers. Topics of interest will include: climate change, pollinator conservation and cover cropping. The wine grape session will feature a special discussion on techniques to improve color stability in red vinifera both in the vineyard and in the winery. New this year will be a whole session on successfully tapping into the growing direct-market opportunities for fruit and vegetable in our region.
Don’t miss this essential annual event. We expect an excellent turnout again in 2018. See the attached form for the current schedule. To register, print the attached form and mail to the Michigan Grape Society with payment to the address on the form.
