Strong and Steady Workshop

What is the Strong and Steady Program? The Strong and Steady Program is an 8-week exercise program for limited income, all ages of men and women. All are welcome, but 50% of the attendees must qualify for SNAP benefits. Each class includes progressive weight training, flexibility, and balance activities.
Research shows that a program of strength training:
- Improves bone density
- Reduces falls
- Improves arthritis symptoms
- Increases flexibility
- Increases strength

- Decreases depression
- Allows you to sleep more soundly
- Increases level of energy
These exercises are safe and effective for women and men of all ages, including those who are not in perfect health. People with health concerns such as arthritis, heart disease osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity and back pain often benefit the most.
No equipment is needed.
Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 1 - 2:30 p.m. starting on May 23 for eight weeks.
