Stored Grain Management and Fumigation Training

Growers and agribusiness professionals will learn information about basic grain storage concepts, stored grain insect identification and management, fumigant regulations, fumigation practices, fumigation safety procedures and selecting, using and maintaining required safety equipment. 

A soil fumigation breakout session will cover recent changes in the soil fumigation procedures that were added to the fumigant labels during EPA‘s review of the materials. The session will cover application methods used to apply soil fumigants, provide an overview of what crops and pests soil fumigants are used for nationally and in Michigan and the new required procedures and setback distances for safe use of these materials. 

Participants at this program will earn enough fumigation standard credits to be able re-certify their RUP fumigation credential for 3 years without re-taking the test. The program will run in conjunction with the grain storage and fumigation workshop being offered at the same time and location. The soils portion of the program will run from 9 a.m. through lunch.  

Registration Fee

Registration for this program is $65 per person which includes lunch. Participants will earn 4 RUP credits that will satisfy the fumigation certification standard requirement for the next three years.
