The fruit and vegetable grower community of Southwest Michigan and surrounding areas is invited to spend two days together in Benton Harbor for a trade show, continuing education, and networking. The Michigan Grape Society and Michigan State University Extension in partnership with Lake Michigan College will host the annual Southwest Michigan Horticultural Days. Registration begins at 8 a.m. both days and all educational sessions begin at 9 a.m. There will be a morning general session on February 3 on the farm bill and other matters of general interest. There will be educational sessions on tree fruit both days, on vegetable production and wine grapes on Feb. 3, and blueberries and all grapes on Feb. 4. The event also features a trade show and raffle. Restricted use pesticide recertification credits (RUP) have been requested for all educational sessions. Registration is $60 at the door and includes lunch for both days. Early registration is $45 and must be postmarked by Jan. 25.
