The first IPM meeting of the year, the Spring Kick-off Meeting, for grape growers will be held at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center (SWMREC). Dr. Imed Dami of Ohio State University, and Bruce Bordelon of Purdue University, both experts on viticulture from outside Michigan, will be the main speakers at the event. Topics to be discussed are research results from in-vineyard trials at Purdue University and Ohio State University regarding cold injury and frost management. Keith Mason from MSU Entomology will be updating growers on current research on grape insect pests.
Cost is $13.00 per person for pre-registration (before March 28) or $18.00 after March 28 and at the door. Checks should be made payable to Michigan State University (MSU) and mailed, along with registration form, to Berrien County MSU Extension, 1737 Hillandale Road, Benton Harbor MI 49022.
Meeting includes dinner and is to be served after educational presentations. Two restricted use pesticide (RUP) recertification credits have been requested for this meeting.
