Open to youth ages 11-15 with a desire to learn more about forestry.
This fun and interactive three day camp gives youth the opportunity to learn all about forestry in Michigan. Youth will increase their understanding of forest ecosystems and how to manage them.
Activities will include the following:
Tree Identification, Forest Measurements, Insect and Disease Identification, Careers, Games, Compass Basics, and more. Youth will also go on a field trip to tour a sawmill and a timber harvest on Wednesday, June 21.
This camp is open to any youth between the ages of 11 and 15 as of Jan. 1, 2017. The cost is only $20. A $10 Participation Fee also applies if your child is not already a 4-H member. The cost does not include lunch; please bring a sack lunch, bug spray and sunscreen each day.
The deadline to register is June 5, 2017. Space is limited to 20 participants.
