Retail Meat Processing Variance Training

Training will cover basic information on the Food Code, Food Safety and Prerequisite Programs, and HACCP. The training will go over all components of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Retail Meat Variance Application. The afternoon will offer participants an opportunity to start working on their individual Retail Meat Variance Application, including time in a computer lab where you can type your information into the Variance Application form. Staff from MDARD will be available for Q&A. The training will be conducted by meat experts within Michigan State University Extension. Lunch is included in the registration fee and refreshments will be provided in the morning and afternoon. The event is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This training is being offered at 25% off of the $100 fee with funds provided by MDARD. Event registration totals $75. Cancellations received after Feb. 10 will incur a $20 cancellation fee.

This course will not be conducted if less than 15 individuals register. Full refunds will be processed if the course is cancelled due to low in enrollment.
