Put it Up! Food Preservation for Youth curriculum is a series of informal educational lessons that guide youth to explore and understand the science of safe food preservation. The hands-on food preparation activities are for youth ages 8-12 years old.

The series is composed of six different food preservation methods: boiling water canning, making jam, pickling, pressure canning, drying and freezing. In addition to step-by-step procedures, reflection questions, and ideas for experimentation. Each method also includes additional activities: a science-based fill-in-the bland challenge, a history-based word search, a glossary, a resource list, a knowledge test and more!

This six week program will focus on a new food preservation method.  Get hands-on with this great program.

4-H members pay $35
Non-4-H members pay $45 (this cost includes the $10 4-H membership)

Dates: March 10, 17, 24 and April 7, 14 and 21, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
