Pumpkin and watermelon are two crops gaining importance in Michigan. To assist current and potential growers, Michigan State University Extension will be offering a day-long workshop on their production. The workshop will cover production basics as well as diseases, insects, varieties, marketing and food safety practices. The workshop will be held in Camden, Michigan January 24, 2013 at the Camden Missionary Church Outreach Center, 611 West Bell Street. The cost is $60 per person and includes refreshments, lunch and a notebook. Those interested must be registered by January 11, 2013.
