Pork Quality Assurance Workshop

PQA is an educational session used to educate youth livestock producers involved in the care of swine projects for fair to ensure a safe, consistent, and wholesome consumer product. The concepts of this training can be applied to any livestock species.

Youth completing PQA training will receive certification from National Pork Board. Certification will be: 1-year certification 9-11 year olds; up to 3-years for 12-14 year olds; up to 3-years for 15-18 year olds; and 1-year for 19 year olds.

Certification is not required for Sanilac County Fair, but is recommended as it is required for some processers and shows including Green & White. PQA certified exhibitors will be identified during the Sanilac County 4-H Fair Livestock Auction.
