PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) is a six week program that teaches practical skills for living a healthy life with a chronic health condition like diabetes, arthritis, asthma, chronic pain, heart disease, etc... The workshop focuses on self-care, learning new coping strategies, and sharing personal experiences with other group members. PATH is a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program that was developed and tested by Stanford University. It is designed to be part of an individual’s current medical treatment. Research has shown people who have attended this six session workshop feel better, are less limited by their illness, and spend less time at the doctor or in the hospital. Classes are scheduled to meet at the Human Services Building, 801 Hazen St., in Paw Paw on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and will begin November 12-December 17. Classes meet for 2 1/2 hours once a week. A light snack will be provided. Cost for the 6 week workshop is FREE. Family members, friends or caregivers are also encouraged to attend.
