You are invited to an informal, outdoor forage educational event on Wednesday, August 12, 4-7pm sponsored by Michigan State University Extension and the Hiawthaland Farm Bureau. Topics will include successful frost seeding of red clover into grass pasture, practical use of fertilizers, problem pasture weeds, and other issues brought up by participants. Host farmer Jon Haindl is making his farm available for this free program. The group will meet at 4pm at the Haindl Farm at 147 N. Poupour Road, Cooks, Michigan 49817. U.P. MSU Extension educators and the host farmer will be leading discussion. Transportation between fields is on your own. Refreshments will follow the last field visit. There is no charge for this event, but registration is required.
