The Oakland County 4-H volunteer training is a two part workshop that provides essential information to help volunteers successfully work with young people using the 4-H method and philosophy of Positive Youth Development. As an adult volunteer attending these trainings you will build leadership skills, learn how to facilitate positive learning experiences for youth, and discover the endless opportunities in 4-H!

The first session will focus on Positive Youth Development and is a pre-requisite for the second session.

  • Session 1 Topics included: life skills, behavior management and an intro to experiential learning.
  • Session 2 Topics included: club structure and development, including: set-up, planning, financial management, Parliamentary procedures, and youth recognition.

These interactive sessions are a great introduction to the Oakland County 4-H Youth Development program and will help you become a super 4-H club leader or volunteer!
