The National Diabetes Prevention Program is through the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC). Lifestyle coaches will work in small groups with adults that are at high risk or diagnosed with prediabetes to adopt healthy lifestyles that include healthy eating and incorporating physical activity. Coaches will provide support, encouragement, and information to participants and work through challenges that may arise providing an environment that encourages life-long self-management skills for the participants health and well being. This specific training is a closed event that will be offered in Macomb County to grantees of the State Public Health Actions to Prevent and Control Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity and Associated Risk Factors and Promote School Health CDC 1422 grant. Please check the MSU Extension calendar for more upcoming Lifestyle Coach Training opportunities in Michigan.
