Brian Matchett, the Regional Program Coordinator for the Institute of Agricultural Technology at Northwestern Michigan College, will host this free workshop on how 4-H members can catapult their interest in agriculture into a career! Mr. Matchett will give an overview of Michigan State University’s Ag Science program to 4-H members and their parents on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 6-7 p .m. at the NMC University Center in Traverse City (2200 Dendrinos Drive, Room 05). He will explain that NMC and MSU are partners in a one-of-a-kind program which allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree from NMC and a Certificate from MSU‘s Institute of Agricultural Technology in one of four areas:
• Agricultural Operations
• Fruit and Vegetable Crop Management
• Landscape Management
Through this joint venture 4-H members can attend MSU classes on the NMC campus in Traverse City which is truly an amazing—and cost saving—gift! There is no charge for this program, but pre-registration by Oct. 23 is required.
