MSU Tollgate Farm 28115 Meadowbrook Rd. Novi, MI 48377
Monday, Feb. 19 & Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.* $ 130**
Drive away the winter blues and embark for two days of outdoor adventure! Spend time on the winter farm as a farmer-in-training. We will engage in daily animal chores; feed goats, sheep, rabbits, and chickens, and collect eggs. We will hike the sugar bush, learn how to read tree cookies, and explore methods used by animals to cope with the cold. We will warm up in Garden Kitchen while cooking nutritious snacks using seasonal food. We have a different theme each day, making for new activities and adventures to apply science learning to everyday life! A typical camp day includes Garden Kitchen snacks, animal chores, STEM learning, and hikes (weather-permitting). School-break camps often include music, stories with tea, and science investigations. Low child to adult ratios make this camp fill quickly, so register early.
*Aftercare is offered from 4-6 p.m. for $10.00 per hour. Preregistration for camp and aftercare required. Earliest drop-off time is 8:45 a.m. **plus a one-time annual $20 4-H membership fee if not currently enrolled in the program year (September 1, 2017 - August 31, 2018)
MSU Extension Tollgate Farm Camps are a program of Michigan 4-H Youth Development. Registration for camp enrolls your child as a 4-H Member in Oakland County.
