The Mid Michigan Cattle Network is a way to connect with other Mid-Michigan cattle producers to have roundtable discussions, sit in on informative programs and take tours of different cattle farms. The programs are presented in a relaxed, informal, Q & A discussion format. The meetings take place on the 3rd Thursday of every month, with the exception of July and November. Winter programs take place at the MSU Extension office in Gladwin County starting at 7:00pm. Any person that is interested in joining the network can call Kable Thurlow at 989-426-7741 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Participants in the June 2017 “In the Field” program will be discussing the following topics:
- See the results of 40 years of intensive rotational grazing
- Little research plots

- Value of rest period
- To clip or not to clip pastures after grazing
