U.P. Crop Nutrient Management program

MSU Extension is offering a 2-session crop nutrient management educational program in 5 Upper Peninsula locations.  All farmers and interested people are welcome to attend these free programs. 

  • Session one:  Developing a crop nutrient management strategy

    1. Determining crop nutrient needs

    2. Determining current soil fertility situation

    3. Strategies for meeting immediate crop nutrient needs

    4. Strategies for building long-term soil fertility and health

  • Session two:  Implementing your nutrient management strategy

    1. Fertilizers, manures, green manures and other soil amendments

    2. Application techniques, timing and placement

    3. Evaluating results of your nutrient management strategy
