Lighting Applications in Floriculture

This is a FREE two-hour workshop that will cover the latest research-based information generated at MSU on how to use lighting in the production of floriculture crops. Dr. Runkle will discuss different ways to create long days to accelerate flowering of spring crops. He will also discuss principles and practices to increase the daily light integral (DLI) to improve root and shoot growth. Different lighting technologies will be presented, with an emphasis on the challenges, opportunities, and experiences of using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in crop production.

The event will be held in the Basement Council Room at the Charter Township of Comstock Hall.
